Aleppo Soap Bar
Aleppo Soap Bar (40% Laurel Oil) — Traditional Syrian Recipe An ancient natural soap crafted using centuries-old cold-press methods. Made with just two ingredients — pure olive oil (60%) and laurel berry oil (40%) — this bar delivers gentle cleansing, deep nourishment, and remarkable skin benefits. Our 40% laurel oil concentration is significantly higher than most commercial Aleppo soaps, offering stronger antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties. The laurel oil percentage is the key quality indicator: the higher it is, the richer the therapeutic benefits. Perfect for all skin types — especially acne, eczema, and sensitive or dry skin. The high oleic acid content keeps skin hydrated and supple, while natural lauric acid helps calm redness and irritation. Gentle enough for face, body, and hair. Aged in underground caves for a minimum of one year, the soap develops a darker exterior while the interior remains olive-green. The longer aging process makes it milder and more effective. 100% natural. Vegan. No synthetic fragrances, preservatives, parabens, or SLS. Approx. 4.5 oz (127 g). Made in Turkey. Store on a draining soap dish and keep dry between uses.

About Aleppo Soap Bar — Benefits, Uses & More ▾
Aleppo Soap Bar is one of the world's oldest and most revered natural soaps — crafted in the ancient city of Aleppo, Syria, using a centuries-old cold-press method. Made with just two ingredients — pure olive oil and laurel berry oil — this soap has been prized for millennia for its gentle cleansing, deep nourishment, and remarkable skin benefits.
Our Aleppo Soap Bar contains 40% laurel berry oil — a higher concentration than most commercial Aleppo soaps. The laurel oil percentage is the key quality indicator: the higher it is, the richer the soap's skin-softening, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties.
What Is Aleppo Soap?
Aleppo soap (also called Savon d'Alep or ghar soap) is a hard bar soap that originates from the Levant region of the Middle East. Unlike modern soaps filled with synthetic detergents, preservatives, and artificial fragrances, Aleppo soap is 100% natural — containing only saponified olive oil, laurel berry oil, water, and lye.
The soap is produced in autumn, then aged in underground caves for a minimum of one year — and sometimes up to seven years. This aging process causes the exterior to oxidize and turn dark brown, while the interior remains a beautiful olive-green. The longer it ages, the milder and more effective it becomes.
Aleppo Soap Benefits
- Deep cleansing without stripping: Olive oil creates a rich, creamy lather that removes impurities while preserving the skin's natural moisture barrier.
- Anti-inflammatory: Laurel berry oil contains powerful antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds that help calm redness, irritation, and sensitive skin.
- Antibacterial properties: Natural lauric acid in laurel oil is effective against bacteria, making this soap ideal for acne-prone or blemish-prone skin.
- Suitable for all skin types: Gentle enough for dry and sensitive skin, yet effective enough for oily and combination skin.
- Moisturizing: The high oleic acid content of olive oil keeps skin hydrated, soft, and supple — especially in winter months.
- Eczema and psoriasis relief: Many people with chronic skin conditions find that Aleppo soap helps soothe flare-ups without harsh chemicals.
- Safe for face, body & hair: Gentle enough to use as a facial cleanser or shampoo bar, not just a body soap.
How to Use Aleppo Soap Bar
Wet your hands or a washcloth, lather the soap, and apply to face or body. Because Aleppo soap is highly concentrated, a little goes a long way. Rinse thoroughly with warm water. For best results, keep the soap dry between uses — a soap dish that allows drainage will extend its life significantly.
After washing, you may notice a slight natural olive scent — this is completely normal and fades quickly. The soap feels different from commercial bars: its texture is denser, its lather richer, and its finish smoother.
Why 40% Laurel Oil?
Most Aleppo soaps sold globally contain just 5–20% laurel oil. Our bar contains 40% laurel berry oil — making it one of the highest-quality Aleppo soaps available. This higher ratio means:
- Stronger antibacterial and antifungal action
- More powerful anti-inflammatory effect for irritated or acne-prone skin
- Richer, darker color and earthier scent
- Greater therapeutic benefit for problem skin conditions
